Dave Norval

Vice President Co/Founder

I was born & grew up in Hardin County Tennessee near Savannah.  Being near the Tennessee River, I spent most of my time hunting & fishing near the river.  I have been married to JoAnn for 41 years, have 2 children, and 4 grand children.

I am a U.S. ARMY Veteran, and am retired from University of Tennessee, 32* Mason.  I am also a member of the Methodist Church.

I have always tried to work with our Youth, being a Summer league Baseball Coach for 25 Years, Scoutmaster, 2 Term City Councilman in Arlington Tennessee , and a former Chairman of the Hardin County Republican Party.

" I feel that KHFAC#1 is a wonderful way to expose our Children to Gods Great Outdoors and we must always be there to extend our hand down and lift our children up."

My favorite memory is taking my granddaughter Turkey Hunting for the first time and seeing Her " Smile" when that Ole Tom woke up the Forest with his loud, thundering gobble from the top of that mighty oak tree at dawn.

My favorite Bible Verse is John 14 verse 14.

Leith Konyndyk

Events Cordinator Co/Founder

My name is Leith Konyndyk. I originally come from southern middle Tennessee. I currently am the wildlife officer for Lincoln Co., TN with Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. I hold a B.S. Degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from Tennessee Technological University. All this is great, but here is my story.
Let me tell you how I got here. I spent most of my youth playing in creeks and fishing in farm ponds. It just plain kept me out of a whole lot of other trouble. It was out there to be had. Hunting came along later, around thirteen. I heard stories from my cousin Durk and uncles Chet and George about big bucks and hunting camp. There began my abillity to tell a story better or at least more interesting everytime. They taught me a lot about passing on my hunting heritage through verbal history and actions.
Those days are gone. People pass on, but memories do not. Today, it is my turn to pass on a legacy of hunting to those I know and encounter through KHFAC. KHFAC means so much to me because it allows me the privilage to instill my passion of hunting and the outdoors into young people as well as providing hope through stewardship, understanding, and the helping of others less fortunate.
I owe all my success to Jesus Christ (whom without I could not), my beautiful wife Erika, and my two son's Lake and Roark.

God Bless You and Thank You for Participating,
Leith G. Konyndyk

Bill Crutchfield
Executive Director

Bill Crutchfield is a professional firefighter working for the Naval District of Washington, DC.  Bill has been married to Terri for 14 years and they have two wonderful children Caitlin, and Billy.  Bill’s dad introduced him to hunting as a young child. Bill has been enjoying God’s great outdoors since that first trip so long ago.  His first deer hunt was at the age of 15 years old and chasing whitetails is what makes him tick.  On November 27, 2006 while hunting a small farm in Maryland Bill harvested the largest whitetail deer ever recorded on the entire east coast.  Bill’s big buck scored 268 1/8 inches Boone and Crockett with 14 points per side.  Bill figured if he took his time with this opportunity God would lead him in the right direction, and he did.  After a ton of phone calls and emails friend Garry Mason founder of the Legends of the Outdoors told him to call “Super Dave” Norval.  Well that was one of the best phone calls he ever made.  After a few more calls with “Super Dave” and Dr. Waples who is the president of KHFAC Bill knew he had to be a part of what they were doing.  Dr. Waples and SD are two amazing men with hearts bigger than the state of Tennessee.  I would like to welcome everyone to Team KHFAC, and say thank you for your support.  Together Let’s Do Good For People and Do Good For Hunting!

Jane Haggard

Director/Secretary/Media

I grew up in Hardin County, Tennessee. I learned to enjoy the outdoors at an early age.
My Dad instilled in me an appreciation of the outdoors with numerous hunting and fishing trips.
After receiving my associates degree in business I began working in management at WKWX
Radio in Savannah, Tennessee. At the present I am General Manager and Co-Owner of WKWX.
I have hosted "Sunday Down South" a very popular gospel music program, for the past twenty years.
Never forgetting what my dad had instilled in me, I continue to hunt and fish. My passion is
bowhunting whitetail deer. I hunt annually in my home state of Tennessee, as well as one of the
most prestigious places in Illinois / Pike County. My hunting adventures have taken me as far
north as Canada.
I was honored when asked to be a part of "Kids Hunting for a Cure". Begin involved in media
for over thirty years, I felt that I could use my experience and help to advance this great cause.

Dr. Clifton C. Higgins

I was born and raised in Arkansas. I grew up on a cotton, soybean, and rice farm.  After college, I attended dental school at the University of Tennessee, in Memphis and graduated from there in 1994.  I have been practicing general dentistry in Jonesboro, AR ever since.

The Lord has blessed me with a gorgeous wife and four beautiful, healthy children.  I am a deacon at Walnut Street Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

I have hunted and fished since I was a little boy. My passion is spring turkey hunting, but hunting white tail deer is a close second. I am the president of our local chapter of the
NWTF.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is my favorite charity. I have helped to organize a youth spring turkey hunt designed to raise funds for St. Jude, since the spring of 2006. In the spring of 2007 this event raised over $140,000.00 for St. Jude.

I am currently a member of the board of directors for "Kids Hunting for a Cure".  I look forward to many years of successful fund raising for charitable organizations through KHFAC. The events which we will be conducting will not only generate funds for charities, but will allow the opportunity to get kids into the outdoors to realize the beauty that God has created. It is an opportunity for us to mentor young hunters and fishermen, and pass along our hunting and fishing heritage that I am so passionate about.
Ps. 127:3

Travis Basham

Travis began hunting at the age of 6 with his uncle and grandpaw taking him that year for his first successful?squirrel and rabbit hunts. Travis's dad had also taken him fishing, but hadn't yet gotten into hunting. It was at the age of 10 when Travis took his first deer guided by his grandpaw. After that almost every day after school found him running out the door with a gun, bow, or fishing pole. Travis is now trying to keep his children in the outdoors as much as possible to instill the love and respect for the animals, weapons, and others. Travis is on the board for kidshuntingforacure.org and enjoys taking these children outdoors for a heartfelt experience. Travis' love for the outdoors found him raising/training?birddogs, labs and now a few whitetails to study, and watch them grow. His love for the whitetail also found him working for whitetaildeersales.com. Travis has hunted, fished,or Guided in Mexico, Canada, Alaska, and many lower 48 states. Travis simply enjoys the time outdoors where he can slow down and enjoy life.

Kevin Weldon

KEVIN BLAKE WELDON BIO

Kevin grew up in Lufkin, Texas playing baseball, hunting, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. After a torn rotator cuff injury while pitching at Alvin Community College in Alvin, Texas ended his dreams of playing in the major leagues, Kevin began pursuing his newly discovered talent, singing and writing country music. Within 5 years  Weldon landed a major recording contract with Curb Records in 1995 as one half of the duo, BLAKE&BRIAN. The duo scored 2 top 40 hits and had videos on CMT and GAC as well as several national TV appearances throughout the late 1990's. On more than one occasion when Kevin was needed in the studio, his producer found him outside of Franklin, TN bow hunting on his producer’s 50 acre farm! (He actually bagged 2 nice bucks with his bow on the property)
Kevin has been in country music now for 18 years but it's his latest project, BADBOB & JIMMY, which he is most excited and proud of. The BADBOB & JIMMY project started out as a joke in November of 2004 with good friends gathering after an Illinois bow hunt and Kevin being asked to perform. At some point throughout the evening Kevin began making up a hunting song to the tune of a Tim McGraw hit and everyone just rolled with laughter. It is an ABSOLUTE MUST have for all hunters and non-hunters alike. It is the BEST in redneck deer hunting humor with the first release, POSTED PLACES featuring original songs and parodies such as the title cut, "I Hunt Deer in Posted Places" (Friends in Low Places), "I A'int No Member of No Huntin' Club" (I'm a Member of a Country Club), "Bucky The Bionic Buck", "Gruntin'Horn Rattlin' Fool" and many others! His latest CD, BB&J: REDNECK HUNTER features parodies of smash hits such as "Redneck Hunter" (Redneck Woman), "The Spotlight Glows" (The Thunder Rolls), "I Love This Park" (I Love This Bar), "Jimmy Went Down to Georgia" (The Devil Went Down to Georgia) and "LONGBEARD GOBBLER" (Longneck Bottle)
From that accidental start in 2004 the project has grown to include 2 CD volumes, merchandise, website, radio hits, positive national reviews by music critics and thousands of CD’s sold. To date, Kevin has performed his BADBOB & JIMMY comedy to over 200,000 people and the list goes on and on each day with new and exciting opportunities including upcoming DVD’s, infomercials and national television appearances
Kevin stays extremely busy videoing hunts for an upcoming project and with personal appearances around the country entertaining and promoting BADBOB & JIMMY. When not on the road, Kevin resides in Lufkin, Texas. Kevin has two daughters, Sarah, 21(Parris Island, SC) and Ashley, 19 (Quantico, VA), serving in the United States Marine Corp.
